This election will give voters the ability to make decisions that will have a significant impact on the Cambridge community. The Cambridge School Committee oversees the district’s budget, approves curriculum, and represents the school district in labor negotiations with the unions. It also serves as the voice of the public in the school district, and it must communicate the needs of the school system to the public.” – Terry Gist, president of the 1,200-member Cambridge Education Association

  1. Not quite sure where to ask this, so this spot is probably as relevant as any: Is your campaign events calendar truly correct in reporting that both the CEOC council forum and the C-PAC school committee forum are being held simultaneously at the same location? Inquiring schedule makers, not to mention the janitorial staff at the senior center, would love to know!

  2. As strange as it seems, according to a letter from the CEOC organizers forwarded to me by one of the Council candidates, they decided to move the CEOC forum from Oct 27 to Oct 29 in order to avoid a conflict with the Black Lives Matter group which then subsequently moved their event to Oct 18 leaving Oct 27 unscheduled. The location information is obviously incorrect, and I’ll see what I can find out about that. If anyone else hears otherwise or knows of any other changes or additional forum dates, definitely let me know. I’m doing the best I can to help people coordinate their events, but I can’t compel people to use the resource. – Robert
